Kanazawa
Kanazawa is a city in Ishikawa Prefecture on Japan's Sea of Japan coast that served as the seat of the Kaga Domain under the Maeda clan from 1583 to 1868. The city preserves samurai residential districts, geisha quarters, and two Edo-period temple districts, Teramachi and Utatsuyama, that were built into the castle town's defensive perimeter.
